Janice Smithers is  a singer/songwriter and award winning contemporary artist with a difference. Having a long and distinguished career in the Australian Music Industry, Janice has become well known as a passionate performer covering many genres. Janice  has performed with many different bands and acts alongside plenty of names such as Jimmy Barnes, Diesel and recently Dan Sultan, playing shows at festivals such as Mitchell Creek Rock n Blues & Gympie Music Muster. Janice has also been one of the long term resident musicians at the Great Barrier Reef Heron Island for  the past 15 years and has  fronted many successful cover bands in major venues and events. Janice released a solo album called 'Life's like that' in 2013 to critical acclaim and had airplay on over 80 radio stations throughout Australia and overseas. One of the tracks 'Too Soon' was recently nominated for a Music Oz Award. Janice's second album is due for release early 2016, which will be promoted with a national tour. Along with a busy schedule of Bands, duo and solo work, Early 2015 saw the start  of "Piece of my heart' a tribute to the legendary Janis Joplin which has been a great success with Janice out front of an all star band including members of the popular 60's & 70's band 'Late for Woodstock' with the bands doing regular shows together throughout Queensland receiving great reviews.
